Anne Desjardins

Anne Desjardins is the head chef and co-owner with her husband Pierre Audette of the Relais-Chateaux restaurant and inn l'Eau à La Bouche . Located in Ste-Adèle, Québec, about an hour's drive north of Montréal, Anne's restaurant has earned several prestigious awards, including multiple Québec Tourism Grand Prix gold medals, the award of Four Diamonds by CAA (AAA), and the Award of Excellence DIRON.

Renowned for her strong belief in the quality of regional specialties, Anne Desjardins has been called the best chef in Canada by the New York Times, was honored as the chef of one America's Top Tables by Gourmet magazine, and was recently awarded the the prix Renaud-Cyr. In 2002, she was also named Knight of l'Ordre National du Québec by the Prime Minister.

While self-taught, Anne attends great chef's seminars in France and in Montréal, gets involved with other chefs, associations, farmers, and organic producers to be able to offer her customers the best and only the best, using and promoting regional and local products. From the beginning, Anne always had her own herb and edible flower garden.

 

Anne is also the author a new cookbook "Anne Desjardins cooks at L'eau à la bouche, the seasonal cuisine of Québec". In 2003, it garnered the Gourmand World Cookbook Award.
